# Privacy - Joel Saji

> No analytics and no cookies: a theme preference and an unsent contact-form draft stay in your browser, and contact messages are delivered by email.

Canonical: https://www.joelcsaji.com/privacy

This site is a personal portfolio and blog. It is built to collect as little as possible. Here is what that means in practice when you read a page or get in touch.

## What is collected

Nothing, by default. There are no analytics scripts, no advertising or tracking pixels, no third-party embeds, and no cookies set by this site. Fonts are self-hosted, so no font provider learns about your visit. Reading a page, an article, or the AI dictionary sends nothing about you anywhere except to the hosting provider described below.

## Hosting logs

The site runs on Cloudflare Workers. To deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, Cloudflare processes request metadata such as your IP address, user agent, the URL requested, and timing, and keeps short-lived logs under [Cloudflare's privacy policy](https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/). Those logs are used only to diagnose errors and outages. They are not combined with other data, used for profiling, or shared beyond that purpose.

## Your theme preference

Choosing light or dark mode stores a single value in your browser's local storage so the choice persists between visits. It never leaves your device, and clearing your browser's site data removes it.

## The contact form

When you send a message through the [contact page](/contact), the name, email address, and message you type are delivered to Joel by email or to a private inbox webhook so he can reply. Submissions are rate-limited to deter abuse. Nothing is stored on this site's servers beyond that delivery, and your details are never sold, shared with anyone else, or added to a mailing list. If you would rather not use the form, email [hello@joelcsaji.com](mailto:hello@joelcsaji.com) directly.

While you type, an unsent draft of the form is kept in your browser's local storage so an accidental navigation doesn't lose it. The draft never leaves your device: it is not sent anywhere until you submit, and clearing your browser's site data removes it.

## External links

Links to GitHub, LinkedIn, X, project sites, and the sources cited in articles and dictionary entries lead to services with their own privacy practices. Check theirs before sharing anything there.

## Automated access

Search engines, AI assistants, and other software may read the public content of this site through its HTML pages, the [Markdown and JSON endpoints](/developers), [/llms.txt](/llms.txt), [/sitemap.xml](/sitemap.xml), and [/rss.xml](/rss.xml). Those endpoints expose only published content. No visitor data is available through any of them.

## Questions

Email [hello@joelcsaji.com](mailto:hello@joelcsaji.com) with any question about this page. It is reviewed whenever the way the site handles data changes; this copy ships with the site build of October 12, 2026.
